The Shapton Kuromaku 3-stone set is a complete sharpening system designed to take a knife from repair to a refined, sharp edge.

It combines three essential grits:

  • #320 (coarse) – for repairing chips, reshaping and restoring damaged edges
  • #1000 (medium) – for everyday sharpening and establishing a sharp working edge
  • #2000 (fine) – for refining the edge and improving cutting control

Used together, these stones cover the full sharpening process: repair → sharpen → refine

This progression allows you to maintain your knives consistently, whether in the kitchen or outdoors.

Like all Kuromaku stones, each stone is splash-and-go. No soaking is required — simply add water and begin sharpening. The hard ceramic composition resists wear and helps maintain a flat surface over time.

Beautiful, comfortable, light as a feather, has a very good edge geometry and factory sharpness, and keeps that edge for a long-long time.
