The Roselli Carving knife, short blade is designed for wood carving where precision and control are essential. Its short, narrow 68 mm carbon steel blade makes it easy to guide the knife through wood, particularly when working on small details, intricate shapes and delicate cuts.
The shorter blade allows you to work close to the cutting edge, giving you greater control over the direction and depth of each cut. This makes it especially well suited to detailed carving, small wooden objects and projects where accuracy matters more than blade reach.
The blade features Roselli's Scandi Grind Zero with a 14-degree bevel on each side, creating a 28-degree total edge angle. This geometry provides a sharp, controlled cutting edge that bites cleanly into wood and makes it easier to follow the grain and shape fine details.
With a hardness of around 60 HRC, the carbon steel offers a practical balance of sharpness, edge retention, durability and ease of sharpening.
The handle is made from stained curly birch and treated with linseed oil. Its ergonomic shape provides a comfortable, secure grip, helping you maintain control during both intricate carving and longer woodworking sessions.
Each knife is handmade in Harmoinen, Finland, and comes with a handcrafted blade cover made from dark, vegetable-tanned Finnish leather.
A compact, purpose-built carving knife for anyone who values precise control, a sharp edge and the satisfaction of shaping wood by hand.
